It was a great day to be a bluebird! The scholar bowl team won first place in a tight finals match against Lincoln in the conference tournament, but Lincoln got their payback with a friendly game of Cornhole afterward. We also need to congratulate Logan Anderson for being the top scorer in the conference!

Students in Workplace Communications and Bluebird Media went to Learfield Communications in Jefferson City on March 13th. Mrs. Benitz was able to provide career exploration funds through the RootEd office to help with expenses. Mrs. Kern arranged the trip with the company, as her sister-in-law works in accounting there. They ate at Pappo’s Pizzeria afterward and many students had never been - it was an instant favorite. Students were able to observe a live on-air ag communications broadcast and hear about their media outlets, Missourinet and Brownfield Ag News for America. They also toured the engineering department to see a custom-built computer system designed to transmit information signals to over 600 different broadcast networks. Finally, students watched live board operators work in communication with broadcast journalists at NCAA basketball games in real time.

The Class of 2027 had a successful fish fry thanks to the many parent volunteers, students who worked their shifts, and the wonderful community members who purchased plates! A special thank you to the Sophomore dads who braved the Missouri weather this morning to fry our fish for the day!
